Workshop: The University of Auckland 📚

Last June we held a workshop with the researchers Lucas Hogan and Max Stephens from The University of Auckland, New Zealand. Here we had the opportunity to learn about their current research and experience.

First Dr. Hogan shared his experience conducting large-scale experiments under natural conditions. For us it was impressive to see how they are done. Sometimes you need a lot of force-brute! 🦍 There is still a lot to learn outside our experimental laboratory.

Then Dr. Stephens gave a lecture about his current work which focus on considering carbon emission costs of resilient design. Since we are also looking to promote more sustainable buildings by reducing CO2 emissions, it was a good opportunity to learn from overseas.🌳

Finally, our M2 students Takahashi, Suzuki, Ohno and Hoa presented in English the current research in Maeda Laboratory. Both professors and students were able to exchange ideas, so we had a good discussion.

Thank you for coming, Dr. Hogan and Dr. Stephens. Let’s meet again!
